FreeTTS 1.2! A text synthesizer written in Java!

Not that I know very well how to programm in java, but for any of you interested with this free library, here is the link: FreeTTS 1.2

It is based upon Flite: a small run-time speech synthesis engine developed at Carnegie Mellon University. Flite is derived from the Festival Speech Synthesis System from the University of Edinburgh and the FestVox project from Carnegie Mellon University.

At the moment FreTTS comes with 3 embedded voices:

• kevin - a low quality, unlimited domain, 8kHz diphone voice
• kevin16 - a medium quality, unlimited domain, 16kHz diphone voice
• alan - a high quality, limited domain, 16kHz cluster unit voice

I haven’t had time to play with it yet, but I will try pretty soon and let you know how did it go.
